He married Ida Isbell in St. Clair Co., Al, 1 Jan 1912. (Ida Isbell is #11023.) Ida was born in Shelby Co., Al 25 Dec 1897. Ida was the daughter of James Jason Alexander 'Shug' Isbell Sr. and Amanda 'Mandy' Brasher. Ida died 12 Oct 1934 in Bessie Mines, Jefferson Co., Al, at 36 years of age. Her body was interred in Chelsea, Shelby Co., Al. At 10 years of age Ida became the mother of Bertha 'Bert' Brasher in Shelby Co., Al, 5 Feb 1908. At 15 years of age Ida became the mother of Freeland Carl Brasher 10 Aug 1913. At 17 years of age Ida became the mother of Mary Ann Brasher 23 Apr 1915. At 19 years of age Ida became the mother of John 'Johnny' Brasher 27 Jun 1917. At 21 years of age Ida became the mother of Robert Lawrence 'R. L.' Brasher 8 Sep 1919. At 23 years of age Ida became the mother of Dallas Edward Brasher 11 Mar 1921. At 27 years of age Ida became the mother of Alvin Junior 'Al' Brasher 27 Jul 1925. At 30 years of age Ida became the mother of David Edgar 'Ed' Brasher 3 Sep 1928. At 34 years of age Ida became the mother of Jewel Marie Brasher in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 26 Aug 1932.

At 20 years of age David became the father of Bertha 'Bert' Brasher in Shelby Co., Al, 5 Feb 1908. At 25 years of age David became the father of Freeland Carl Brasher 10 Aug 1913. At 27 years of age David became the father of Mary Ann Brasher 23 Apr 1915. At 29 years of age David became the father of John 'Johnny' Brasher 27 Jun 1917. At 31 years of age David became the father of Robert Lawrence 'R. L.' Brasher 8 Sep 1919. At 33 years of age David became the father of Dallas Edward Brasher 11 Mar 1921. At 37 years of age David became the father of Alvin Junior 'Al' Brasher 27 Jul 1925. At 40 years of age David became the father of David Edgar 'Ed' Brasher 3 Sep 1928. Her body was interred in Forest Hill Cem., Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al. She married twice. She married Wallace Alto Dowling in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al. (Wallace Alto Dowling is #11151.) Wallace was born 17 Feb 1894. Wallace died 8 Apr 1970 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, at 76 years of age. His body was interred in Forest Hill Cem., Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al. At 35 years of age Wallace became the father of Wallace Ray Dowling in Jefferson Co., Al, 8 Feb 1930. At 35 years of age Wallace became the father of Walter Fay Dowling in Jefferson Co., Al, 8 Feb 1930. At 38 years of age Wallace became the father of Hazel Louise Dowling in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 13 Jun 1932. At 40 years of age Wallace became the father of Ellen Deloris 'Bootsie' Dowling in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 16 Dec 1934. (See Wallace Alto Dowling for the continuation of this line.) At 17 years of age Bertha became the mother of Charles 'Nick' Jones in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 18 Jan 1926. At 22 years of age Bertha became the mother of Wallace Ray Dowling in Jefferson Co., Al, 8 Feb 1930. At 22 years of age Bertha became the mother of Walter Fay Dowling in Jefferson Co., Al, 8 Feb 1930. At 24 years of age Bertha became the mother of Hazel Louise Dowling in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 13 Jun 1932. At 26 years of age Bertha became the mother of Ellen Deloris 'Bootsie' Dowling in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, 16 Dec 1934. Birthdate agrees with 1916 school census. Bertha said that her Aunt Dude Isbell raised her. Her real name was Missouri. She said that she and Aunt Dude lived in the house with Aunt Dude's sister, Aunt Marg, and her husband, Uncle John. They had one grown son who did not live wit h them. When Aunt Dude died, Bertha went back to live with her father. She was twelve years old when Aunt Dude died. They lived at the saw mill. Bert said Aunt Dude was buried at Sand Ridge. Mr. Dowling had been married previously and had two children by his first wife, Evelyn Dowling Thompson and Max Cummings Dowling. Bertha's daughter-in-law, Billie Owen Dowling, gave the data on all of Bertha and Wallace's children, spouses, and their children. She was very nice and helpful. Bertha has had a hip replacement and uses a walker. A younger cousin said that Bertha "was a lovely lady." She was certainly very willing help with the family. Bertha lived at 8909 Parkway East, Roebuck in Birmingham, AL.

child + 3 ii. Freeland Carl Brasher was born 10 Aug 1913.

child 4 iii. Mary Ann Brasher (#11033) was born 23 Apr 1915. Mary died 8 Dec 1981 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al, at 66 years of age. Her body was interred in Forest Crest Cem., Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al. She married Brice Bircheat. (Brice Bircheat is #11034.) His body was interred in Forest Crest Cem., Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al ?. (See Brice Bircheat for the continuation of this line.) She died at UAB, but lived in Tarrant City.

child 5 iv. John 'Johnny' Brasher (#11040) was born 27 Jun 1917. John died 17 Aug 1934 at 17 years of age. His body was interred in Chelsea, Shelby Co., Al. He married an unknown person. Johnny died from leukemia.

Jewel gave most of the data on her family on 19 March 1998. Said I could use her name as a submitter. She was born in the old Hillman Hospital. Someone said that Jewel may have been sent to Dave's sister in TN who raised her?? She or they stayed with Lexie at one time.? Need to talk to Jewel about this.
