He married Emily May Alexander. (Emily May Alexander is #18581.) Emily was born in Shelby Co., Al 13 Jan 1905. Emily was the daughter of William Thomas 'Will' 'W. T.' Alexander and Frances Lou 'Della' Isbell. Emily died in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Al. Her body was interred in Dunnavant Com. Cem., Dunnavant, Shelby Co., Al. At 20 years of age Emily became the mother of Henry Ford Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 31 Dec 1925. At 26 years of age Emily became the mother of Mary Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 20 Sep 1931. At 28 years of age Emily became the mother of Sara Lajean Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 4 Nov 1933. At 29 years of age Emily became the mother of Willie Mae Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 21 Oct 1934. At approximately 33 years of age Emily became the mother of William 'Pete' Batton in Shelby Co., Al, about 20 Apr 1938.

At 39 years of age William became the father of Henry Ford Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 31 Dec 1925. At 45 years of age William became the father of Mary Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 20 Sep 1931. At 47 years of age William became the father of Sara Lajean Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 4 Nov 1933. At 48 years of age William became the father of Willie Mae Batton in Shelby Co., Al, 21 Oct 1934. At approximately 52 years of age William became the father of William 'Pete' Batton in Shelby Co., Al, about 20 Apr 1938. Ford Batton said his father was called Willie or W. B. Ms. Emma called him Will. They lived at the old Batton Place near Pleasant Ridge Church. Willie worked in the coal mines around Lake Purdy and Springville a few years when he was young, but mainly farmed for a living. He cut logs, some cross ties. He died in th e TB Sanitorium near Brookwood Hospital. Will was a half brother to Alf Batton.
